The FY2026 10-K competition section describes tool-level qualification lock-in as the structural fact of the industry: 'semiconductor manufacturers must make a substantial investment to qualify and integrate new capital equipment into semiconductor production lines. As a result, once a semiconductor manufacturer has selected a particular supplier's equipment and qualified it for production, the manufacturer generally maintains that selection for that specific production application and technology node as long as the supplier's products demonstrate performance to specification in the installed base.' The filing then sizes what that incumbency is worth: of 23,232,690 thousand dollars of FY2026 revenue, 8,347,202 thousand - about 36% - was customer-support-related revenue and other, which the same document defines as 'sales of customer services, spares, upgrades, and non-leading-edge equipment' sold back into the installed base. A qualified position plus a third of revenue annuitised against it is a durable barrier rather than a cyclical one.

The FY2026 10-K describes advantages that are real but shallow, and a revenue mix that is diluting them. It names them as 'our end-to-end solutions portfolio, go-to-market capabilities, supply chain, and global services' and calls the direct sales channel 'a significant competitive advantage', while conceding it faces 'ongoing product and price competition in all areas of our business from both branded and generic competitors' and, on components, that 'any disruption that may occur because of our dependence on single- or limited-source vendors would not disproportionately disadvantage us relative to our competitors' - i.e. no differentiated supply position. The filing's own margin table shows where the franchise actually earns: total gross margin fell from 23.8% of net revenue in Fiscal 2024 to 22.2% in Fiscal 2025 to 20.0% in Fiscal 2026, and inside that, product gross margin fell 17.5% to 15.8% to 13.7% while services gross margin rose 40.8% to 41.4% to 44.8%. Narrow rather than none, because the high-margin services and storage core is intact and its margin rate improved; narrow rather than wide, because the line that is growing carries a 13.7% product gross margin and the filing attributes the whole decline to it.

The FY2025 10-K describes a real, well-defended position but declines every claim that would make it structural. The strength is in how Amphenol gets designed in: it 'works closely with its customers at the design stage to create and manufacture innovative solutions', and the R&D discussion says this 'often results in the Company obtaining approved vendor status for its customers' new products and programs'. The demand side reinforces it — 'for many years, customers have generally been consolidating their lists of qualified suppliers to companies that have the ability to meet certain technical, quality, delivery and other standards while maintaining geographic flexibility and competitive prices'. Against that, the Competition section opens with 'the Company encounters competition in all areas of its business', lists price among the five bases on which it competes ('technology innovation, product quality and performance, price, customer service and delivery time'), and names thirteen primary competitors: Aptiv, Belden, Corning, Foxconn Interconnect Technology, Glenair, HUBER+SUHNER, ICT Luxshare, Jonhon, Molex, Rosenberger, Sensata, TE Connectivity and Yazaki, 'among others', plus 'a large number of smaller companies who compete in specific geographies, markets or products'. The IP section explicitly declines the patent story: 'we do not believe that our competitive position or our operations are dependent upon or would be materially impacted by the loss of any single patent or group of related patents'. Scale is real but not commanding — the filing estimates the worldwide interconnect, cable-assembly, antenna, cable and sensor market at 'approximately $500 billion in 2025' against its own $23,094.7 million of net sales, and calls the industry 'highly fragmented'. A moat that has to be re-won socket by socket in a fragmented market against named peers of comparable standing is narrow, not wide.

The 10-K grounds the advantage in the cost of requalification, not in scale or patents: a customer that has qualified a competitor's tool is hard to win, and conversely Lam's own qualified positions persist for that application and node. The same section adds that the company must keep serving 'our installed base of customers through the delivery of high-quality and cost-efficient spare parts', naming the installed base as the asset being defended.

成本规模

The filing locates the advantage in scale of distribution and supply, not in proprietary rights. It states 'Our world-class supply chain operates at significant scale', describes a direct sales force plus a partner network that produced 'approximately 40% of our net revenue' in Fiscal 2026, and lists supply chain and global services among its competitive advantages. The IP alternative is ruled out in the same document: with 25,859 granted patents held at January 30, 2026, Dell still says 'we are not substantially dependent on any single patent or group of related patents.'

转换成本

The filing locates the advantage in the design-in relationship, not in patents or in raw scale. Its stated strategy is to 'expand the scope and number of its preferred supplier relationships with customers across its diverse end markets', achieved by working 'closely with its customers at the design stage'; the payoff named in the R&D section is 'approved vendor status for its customers' new products and programs'. The Customers section describes the resulting stickiness in structural terms — supplier lists are being consolidated to those who clear technical, quality and delivery standards, and 'our relationships with them typically date back many years' — and it says these close relationships 'allow the Company to better anticipate and respond to these customer needs when designing new products'. Amphenol itself disclaims IP dependence and instead 'rel[ies] upon trade secrets, manufacturing know-how, continuing technological innovations and licensing opportunities'. Cost_scale is a genuine reinforcement rather than the primary source: the Company manufactures 'at facilities in approximately 40 countries', states that 'global presence is an important competitive advantage', and 'has established low-cost manufacturing and assembly facilities around the world' — but that footprint serves the design-in relationship (proximity, real-time capability, supply-base consolidation for the customer) rather than standing alone.

The 10-K claims position but not primacy: 'We believe we are in a strong position with our leadership and expertise in deposition, etch, and clean markets.' The same document names Applied Materials as primary competitor in deposition and Applied Materials, Hitachi and Tokyo Electron as primary competitors in etch, which is a shared-leadership structure rather than a clear single leader.

并列领先者

The 10-K's only positioning claim is the unquantified 'Dell Technologies is a leader in the global technology industry'; it names no competitor and gives no share anywhere. The band therefore rests on disclosed absolute scale - ISG net revenue of 60,826m and CSG net revenue of 50,984m in Fiscal 2026, operations in over 170 countries - set against the filing's own admission that hyperscale Infrastructure-as-a-Service buyers 'often buy their infrastructure directly from original design manufacturers', which caps how much of the market Dell can lead at all.

并列领先者

The filing claims leadership repeatedly but always in a served market, never across the industry, and always alongside named peers. In IT datacom it is unambiguous — 'Amphenol is a market leader in interconnect development for the information technology and data communications ("IT datacom") market', with 'industry-leading high-speed, power and active and passive fiber optic interconnect technologies, together with superior simulation and testing capability and cost effectiveness'. In defence it is stronger still: 'Amphenol is a world leader in the design, manufacture and supply of high-performance interconnect systems for harsh environment aerospace and defense applications', offering 'an unparalleled product breadth' and 'participating in major programs from the earliest inception across each phase of the production cycle'. Elsewhere the language is the indefinite article — 'a leading supplier' in automotive, 'a leading provider' in commercial aerospace, 'a leading global provider' in communications networks, 'a technology leader' in industrial. At the company level it says only 'one of the world's largest', and its Competition section places Molex and TE Connectivity, among others, on the same field. Roughly $23.1 billion of net sales against an estimated $500 billion market that the filing calls 'highly fragmented' is not a commanding share.

Real but bounded, and the filing is explicit that the recent gain was mix rather than price. Gross margin as a percent of total revenue rose 180 basis points to 50.5% in fiscal 2026 from 48.7% in fiscal 2025 (gross margin of 11,725,308 thousand dollars on revenue of 23,232,690 thousand, against 8,979,059 on 18,435,591; 7,052,791 on 14,905,386 in fiscal 2024), and the MD&A attributes that: 'Gross margin as a percentage of revenue increased in fiscal year 2026 compared to fiscal year 2025 largely due to favorable customer mix, partially offset by aluminum and steel tariff-related spend.' Against it, the same filing says manufacturers evaluate suppliers on 'overall cost of ownership', that the spares business competes with third-party spare parts providers, and that the customer list is a handful of very large buyers (Micron, Samsung, SK hynix and TSMC named as the most significant customers).

The filing describes price-taking and its own tables confirm it. It reports 'ongoing product and price competition in all areas of our business from both branded and generic competitors' and says 'We closely monitor market pricing, including the effect of foreign exchange rate movements, in an effort to provide the best value for our customers.' Total gross margin fell from 23.8% of net revenue in Fiscal 2024 to 22.2% in Fiscal 2025 to 20.0% in Fiscal 2026, with product gross margin down to 13.7%; CSG operating margin fell three straight years (7.6%, 6.1%, 5.6% of segment revenue); and non-GAAP operating income as a percentage of net revenue 'decreased 10 basis points to 8.8%' even as revenue grew 19%. Consolidated operating margin did rise 70 basis points to 7.2%, but the filing credits a lower operating expense rate for that, not price.

Margin evidence is strong but the filing does not attribute it to price. Operating income rose to 25.4% of net sales in 2025 from 20.7% in 2024 and 20.4% in 2023 (adjusted operating margin 26.2% versus 21.7%), and the stated cause is volume and cost discipline: 'strong performance and disciplined cost control, which generated strong operating leverage on the significant growth experienced during the period'. Segment margins moved the same way for the same reason — Communications Solutions to 31.1% from 24.8%, Harsh Environment Solutions to 26.2% from 24.7%, Interconnect and Sensor Systems to 19.5% from 18.4% — each explained by 'strong operating performance on the higher sales volumes'. On the other side, price is one of the five bases the Company says it competes on, customers are consolidating supplier lists partly on 'competitive prices', and the input side is not fully controlled: difficulties obtaining raw materials 'may also negatively impact the pricing of materials and components sourced or used by the Company', with 'inflationary pressures and increased commodity prices' cited as a live cost risk. The ability to hold and expand margin through a demand surge is real; the ability to set price is not asserted anywhere in the document.

综述

Lam sells etch, deposition and clean tools into a per-node, per-application qualification process that its own 10-K says customers generally do not revisit once a supplier is qualified. The result is two linked economics, and the FY2026 filing splits them: systems revenue of 14,885,488 thousand dollars and customer-support-related revenue and other of 8,347,202 thousand, on total revenue of 23,232,690 thousand. The second line is the installed-base annuity - services, spares, upgrades and refurbished Reliant tools sold wherever Lam already holds the process step. The 10-K names Applied Materials as the primary competitor in dielectric and metals deposition, ASM International and Wonik IPS in ALD/PECVD, and Applied Materials, Hitachi and Tokyo Electron in etch, so this is shared rather than sole leadership. The live erosion risk is policy, not a rival product: China was 34% of revenue in both fiscal 2026 and fiscal 2025 (7,859,811 thousand dollars in FY2026, the largest single region), and the filing states that U.S. export controls on sales to customers in China, including entity listings of multiple customers, restrict sales of equipment and spare parts by U.S. suppliers and thereby 'provides an advantage to our international competitors that are not subject to these restrictions'.

The AI-server line is enormous and it is not a moat - the FY2026 10-K says so in its own margin bridge. AI-optimized servers net revenue went 1,873m in Fiscal 2024 to 9,286m in Fiscal 2025 to 24,683m in Fiscal 2026 (+396% then +166%), lifting total ISG revenue to 60,826m (+40%). Over the same year ISG operating income as a percentage of segment revenue fell 110 basis points to 11.7% 'due to a decline in gross margin rate that outpaced the decline in operating expense rate. Gross margin rate decreased primarily as the result of a shift in mix towards our AI-optimized servers offerings', and the Fiscal 2027 outlook repeats the expectation of 'margin rate pressure resulting from a continuing shift in mix towards our AI-optimized servers offerings'. The cleanest test of pass-through is the filing's product-versus-services split: product net revenue grew 27% to 90,405m at a 13.7% gross margin (down from 15.8% and 17.5%), while services net revenue fell 4% to 23,133m at a 44.8% gross margin. The AI boom arrived entirely as thin product revenue and did not pull the profitable services book along with it. What Dell adds is described plainly as integration: it uses contract manufacturers, buys components from suppliers and 'subsequently sell[s] those components to the manufacturer', and its own 'manufacturing process consists of assembly, software installation, functional testing, and quality control'. The bypass is named too: 'We also face competition from non-traditional IT companies, including large Infrastructure-as-a-Service providers, that often buy their infrastructure directly from original design manufacturers. Competitive pressures could increase if customers choose to move existing workloads to these providers.' What survives as a moat is the part an ODM cannot sell an enterprise: a direct sales force and account teams, a global service and support footprint whose gross margin rate is still rising, storage that held revenue within 3% of flat through the whole mix shift, and Dell Payment Solutions financing that produces multiyear recurring arrangements.

Amphenol is, in its own words, 'one of the world's largest designers, manufacturers and marketers of electrical, electronic and fiber optic connectors and interconnect systems, antennas, sensors and sensor-based products and coaxial, high-speed, fiber optic and specialty cable', selling into a market it sizes at roughly $500 billion in 2025 through three segments — Communications Solutions (52% of 2025 net sales), Harsh Environment Solutions (26%) and Interconnect and Sensor Systems (22%). The durable part of the business is the design-stage relationship that converts into approved-vendor status on customer programs, held together by manufacturing in approximately 40 countries, roughly 6,400 research, development and engineering employees at the end of 2025, and a deliberately flat structure of 'more than 140 general managers running unique, independent businesses'; diversification is real, with no single customer at 10% or more of net sales in 2025, 2024 or 2023 and about 65% of sales outside the United States. The FY2025 result shows what that position converts into under demand: net sales of $23,094.7 million, up 52% in U.S. dollars and 38% organically, with operating income at 25.4% of net sales against 20.7% in 2024 and 20.4% in 2023 — an expansion the filing attributes to 'strong performance and disciplined cost control, which generated strong operating leverage on the significant growth experienced during the period', not to price. The same filing bounds the story: it competes on price among other factors, names thirteen primary competitors, and is buying growth heavily — approximately $3.8 billion across five acquisitions in 2025, the Andrew (Outdoor Wireless Networks and Distributed Antenna Systems) business closed 31 January 2025, and CommScope's Connectivity and Cable Solutions business closed 9 January 2026 for approximately $10.5 billion, 'the largest acquisition in the Company's history' — with acquired businesses 'currently operating below the average operating margin of the Company'.

产业链位置

Upstream wafer-fabrication-equipment supplier; the 10-K names Micron, Samsung, SK hynix and TSMC as its most significant customers across FY2024-FY2026, so Lam sits one step above the memory and foundry capacity that AI compute depends on.

Integrator between accelerator and component suppliers and enterprise or sovereign buyers: the 10-K says Dell purchases components from suppliers, sells them on to contract manufacturers, and performs 'assembly, software installation, functional testing, and quality control', then reaches customers through a direct sales force and a partner network that generated about 40% of Fiscal 2026 net revenue.

Amphenol occupies the physical interconnect layer of the AI build-out, and the filing makes that claim itself rather than leaving it inferred: it is 'a global provider of interconnect solutions to designers, manufacturers and operators of internet and artificial intelligence ("AI")-enabling systems', with products that 'enable a broad array of IT datacom systems and applications, including a growing range of systems to power AI and machine learning'. The exposure is material, not incidental. IT datacom was approximately 36% of 2025 net sales and grew by approximately $4,593.7 million on 'the continued acceleration in and strong demand for products used in next-generation AI-related applications', and backlog rose to approximately $8.9 billion at 31 December 2025 from approximately $6.1 billion a year earlier, an increase the filing says was 'primarily related to strong demand for the Company's products that support AI applications'. The AI pull also drove the segment mix — Communications Solutions net sales grew 71% organically 'with particular strength in AI-related applications'. It is nonetheless a diversified supplier, not an AI pure play: automotive (15%), industrial (19%), communications networks (10%), defense (9%), mobile devices (6%) and commercial aerospace (5%) make up the balance.
