綜述

ASML's Q3 2026 set records for sales and margin, but the beat is better on the operating line than on the bottom line. Total net sales of €11.7 billion landed towards the high end of guidance. Installed Base Management beat its guidance at €3.3 billion on demand for productivity upgrades, and the CFO said its very high margin components lifted gross margin to 57.5%. Below the operating line, around 0.5 billion euros of the €5.0 billion net income came from marking up the Mistral AI stake, so earnings per share of 12.95 euros flatter the run-rate. The more important news is about the years ahead. Customers are raising demand forecasts, ASML now expects its planned supply for 2027 and 2028 to fall short of demand, and some customers want to place orders for 2029 and 2030. Our read: the constraint has moved from demand to ASML's own output. The numbers to watch are delivery of roughly 65 Low NA EUV systems this year, whether 2028 capacity goes above the 30 percent growth target, and how much of the growth stays in Memory, which is guided to grow around 75 percent against around 10 percent for Logic.

A record quarter near the top of guidance: total net sales of €11.7 billion, a 57.5% gross margin lifted by productivity upgrades in Installed Base Management, and net income of €5.0 billion. Not all of that profit is operating, because the statements book a €509.7 million gain on equity investments below income from operations of €5,172.8 million. The stronger signal is forward-looking. Customers keep raising demand forecasts, ASML now expects its planned 2027 and 2028 supply to fall short of demand, and fourth-quarter guidance of €14.2 billion to €15.2 billion is another step up.

The prepared remarks put numbers on the supply-constrained story: roughly 65 Low NA EUV systems out this year against 44 last year, 2028 capacity under review above the 30 percent growth target, and the NXE:3800F at 260 wafers per hour from the beginning of 2027. Memory carries the year, guided to grow around 75 percent against around 10 percent for Logic. The CFO tied 11.4 billion euros of free cash flow to customer downpayments and attributed around 0.5 billion euros of net income to the higher Mistral AI valuation, so earnings per share of 12.95 euros overstate the operating run-rate. This section covers the company-posted prepared remarks only, not the analyst Q&A.

  • “Net system sales were 8.4 billion euros, which includes 4.1 billion euros from EUV system sales, including the sale of 1 High NA EUV system, and 4.3 billion euros from non-EUV system sales. Net system sales were split between Logic at 54 percent and Memory at 46 percent.”
