TSMC Q3 2026 net income rises 68.7% to NT$763.06 billion; guides Q4 revenue to US$52.3–54.3 billion

TSMC reported third-quarter 2026 consolidated revenue of NT$1,494.24 billion (US$46.72 billion), up 50.9% year over year, and net income of NT$763.06 billion, up 68.7%, with diluted EPS of NT$29.43 (US$4.60 per ADR unit) and a gross margin of 66.4%. 3-nanometer made up 33% of wafer revenue and 2-nanometer 8%. TSMC guided fourth-quarter revenue of US$52.3 billion to US$54.3 billion, with a gross margin of 65% to 67% and an operating margin of 56.5% to 58.5%.

Anthropic told prospective investors its third-quarter revenue was $16.8 billion, up from $11.6 billion in the second quarter and $4.7 billion in the first, and that it was profitable on an adjusted basis in the quarter, according to people familiar with the matter cited by CNBC. The disclosure comes ahead of an IPO reportedly slated for November.

Ukraine says SpaceX curbed Starlink and Starshield speeds without warning; Musk says US government controls Starshield

Ukraine accused SpaceX of imposing a speed limit on Starlink terminals in motion, also applied to the military-grade Starshield service, without notifying its defense forces, disrupting some missions. Musk said Starshield systems are owned and controlled by the U.S. government and that limits are decided by the US military and ultimately the president; Ukraine's former defense minister said connectivity at speeds of up to 160 kilometers an hour had been restored.

ByteDance in advanced talks to buy MediaTek custom data-center chips, Bloomberg reports

ByteDance is in advanced talks with MediaTek over the supply of custom data-center chips (ASICs), people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg; MediaTek would provide an unspecified amount. If the deal goes through, ByteDance may become MediaTek's second major customer for such ASICs, after Google. ByteDance is barred from the most cutting-edge AI chips from the likes of Nvidia and is exploring alternatives including partnerships with chip designers.

SK Hynix seeks US approval to ship more chip tools to its Dalian NAND site as a condition for a US factory, sources say

SK Hynix is seeking Washington's approval to export US chipmaking equipment to China as a condition for building a factory in the US, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters; its US unit Solidigm wants to install new NAND equipment in unused space at SK Hynix's Dalian site. The Dalian NAND facility uses tools from Lam Research, Applied Materials and KLA; SK Hynix said Mod B equipment installation is being carried out under authorization from the US government and that no capacity expansion is being sought for Dalian Mod B.
