EPO revokes key Moderna patent for mRNA vaccines
The EPO Boards of Appeal revoked Moderna's European patent EP 3 590 949, the key mRNA vaccine patent on which Moderna had brought legal action against BioNTech and Pfizer. The decision nullifies Moderna's earlier wins before national courts in London and Düsseldorf, though litigation between the parties is likely to continue.
