NVIDIA introduces cuPotential as chip-equipment and EDA makers adopt CUDA-X for AI-defined fabs
NVIDIA introduced cuPotential, a CUDA-X library for simulating atomic and molecular interactions that accelerated already GPU-optimized workflows by an additional 2-3x in early-access testing, and said Applied Materials, Cadence, KLA, Lam Research, Siemens, Synopsys and other semiconductor leaders are using its stack across chip design, manufacturing and testing. Lam Research intends to integrate NanoVDB, which is expected to accelerate select wafer-etch modeling by up to 30x; KLA's new NPP kernel achieved performance 50x faster than earlier CPU versions; and Teradyne is using NVIDIA libraries to deliver approximately 85x faster probe-maintenance inference.
