Anthropic signed a multi-year AI cloud deal with IREN, The Information reports; neither company has confirmed

IREN shares rose 5.5% in pre-open trading after The Information reported that Anthropic has signed a multi-year AI cloud services deal with IREN, identifying Anthropic as the unnamed "leading frontier AI lab" IREN co-CEO Daniel Roberts referenced on the company's fiscal fourth-quarter earnings call in August 2026. According to the report, the agreement gives Anthropic access to large GPU clusters with more flexibility and at lower cost than relying solely on hyperscale public cloud providers. Neither company has officially confirmed the partnership, and financial terms and start date were not disclosed.

Lumentum, Astera Labs and Corning announced a joint rack-level demonstration at the 2026 OCP Global Summit, October 12-15, combining an Astera Labs Scorpio Smart Fabric Switch, Lumentum's 1060 nm VCSEL-based optical interconnect platform and Corning multimode fiber. The proof-of-concept is designed to demonstrate multiple 32 Gb/s NRZ optical channels and an error-free PCIe-5 link.

CXMT reports progress on 4F² DRAM cell structure, plans DDR5 server modules by end of 2026

ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) said it has made key progress on a 4F² memory-cell structure, designed to fit more memory cells onto a chip, that Samsung and SK Hynix are also pursuing. CXMT President Cao Kanyu said at an industry event in Shanghai that the company planned to introduce a new generation of DDR5 RDIMMs for enterprise servers based on the technology by the end of 2026. Samsung shares fell 3.6% and SK Hynix 3.4% on Monday.
