Anthropic filed a petition on Tuesday asking the federal appeals court in Washington, D.C. to rehear its appeal over the Defense Department's designation of the company as a supply chain risk, after the D.C. Circuit upheld the Pentagon's blacklisting in a 2-1 decision in September. Anthropic's attorneys argue the designation was retaliation for the company's speech about AI safety; a Pentagon spokesperson said the agency does not comment on pending litigation.
